On Saturday, KVFD had the opportunity to partner with Home Depot in a kid's "Build a Fire Truck" workshop. Normally we do an outside demonstration or static display but with today's weather that wasn't the best choice for the little ones. So instead they were able to get hands-on for Fire Safety week by building and painting a free fire truck inside.
This event gave both parents and firefighters a time to engage the children and begin, or continue a conversation about home fire safety.
Thanks to Home Depot for this free hands-on workshops. All kids were able to keep their craft, received a KVFD fire helmet, a certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin..
