Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

By KVFD
June 18, 2016

This afternoon KVFD members, friends, and family came together at Victory Brewing to celebrate Bob Tribbett's life. KVFD attended with duty crews in Ladder 8, Amb 8-1, Engine 8-1 and Engine 8-2, while many others came in their personal vehicles. Our Flag was displayed on Ladder 8 and Victory Brewing reserved the second floor for our private party. Photos of "Mr. T" were displayed throughout as was memorabilia from KVFD and his favorite Phila sports team.

While the world lost a legend in Muhammad Ali, our community lost a hero.

Mr. Robert Tribbett, aka "Mr. T" passed away at home on June 6th. He was a long time member of the Pomeroy Fire Company, a lifelong firefighter, a member of KVFD serving as a firefighter/driver, and a member of our Board of Directors since "Day 1." He will be missed!

"Mr. T" had been gallantly battling cancer for the last few years.

Chief Gathercole said,"I always will remember one of "Mr. T's" favorite sayings, "People Helping People." This so very well describes what we do at KVFD and how he lived."

Thank you "Mr. T." for your service to our community. We are honored to have served with you, and for your leadership and friendship. Well done Sir.

Robert Bruce Tribbett, Sr., 63, of Pomeroy, passed away at his home on Monday, June 6, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Bonnie O'Brien Tribbett with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Born in Chester, he was the son of the late Elwood and Alice McGuire Tribbett.

Bob grew up in Delaware County and had lived for the past 26 years in Pomeroy. He graduated from the Chichester High School and was a life member of the Lower Chichester Fire Company. He was employed for 24 years by Global Mechanical of Kennett Square and was proud to be recognized as their first employee.

Bob was also a life member of the local Keystone Valley Fire Company where he served on the Board of Directors.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by three children; Marcia (Tribbett) Pluck and husband Cruz of Pomeroy, Daniel Tribbett and wife Jaime Prekup Tribbett of Pomeroy and Robert B. Tribbett, Jr. of Pomeroy, four grandchildren; Joshua Pluck, Nicholas Pluck, Trinity Pluck and Dani Lynn Tribbett and one brother Donald Tribbett of Florida. He was preceded in death by three siblings; Bernice Llewellyn, Loretta Miller and James Tribbett.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, PA. Online condolences may be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com
