Two major events occurred this weekend with Sadsbury Township’s Community Day and park dedication occurring at Bert Reel Park, and the 5th Annual Fiddler’s Picnic at the Landis Woodland Preserve in Atglen. KVFD staffed an ambulance and fire apparatus at each event, and firefighters ran v2 of our Kids’ Firefighter Challenge at Bert Reel Park.
The challenge was very successful with over 40 kids running through the event. All of the remaining KVFD Kids t-shirts donated by ServPro for Parkesburg's Community day were given out to those kids who completed the challenge and over 300 kids received a plastic KVFD fire helmet.
KVFD and the Sadsburyville Fire Company also did a static display of fire apparatus at the park while our fire police assisted with traffic control.

Chief Gathercole said,”The Sadsbury Community Day had the largest turn-out in years with maybe over 500 people attending. It was a great event for the community!”
