Crash Closes Lower Valley Road

On Monday afternoon at 3:06 PM, KVFD was dispatched to a crash on Lower Valley Road in front of Quad Graphics. The initial caller reported a vehicle overturned with entrapment and smoke coming from the vehicle.

Career staff firefighter/EMTs in Ambulance 8-2 responded and found no fire and that the driver had self-extricated. Rescue 8, Utility 8, Medic 93 and Tac 8 responded with Capt. Gathercole on Tac 8 assuming "Lower Valley Road Command."

West Sadsbury Township police notified PP&L that wires were down across the road and Capt. Gathercole requested a fire police task force from Chester and Lancaster counties to shut down Rt.#372 from Rt.#41 to Limestone Road at the borough line.

The driver was transported to Paoli Hospital by Ambulance 8-2 with a Brandywine Hospital paramedic providing ALS care.

M&N Towing removed the vehicle, and the roadway was opened at 4:30 PM after utility crews removed the wire from the road.

The accident is under investigation by the West Sadsbury Township Police.
