This event will benefit our capital fundraising campaign, and is specifically earmarked for the Central Station renovation project. This is a critical and urgent need due to the condition of our Central Station. The project is necessary because of multiple issues. The building doesn't meet current standards, can't accommodate the size of apparatus, and isn't ADA-compliant. Mr. Reynolds said, "When the building was given back to us from the Borough, it was in need of a lot of work and still is."

One of the more critical needs is a gear room with controlled ventilation. Recent studies highlight the need to provide a separate environment for the firefighter turn-out gear due to contamination with potentially cancer-causing chemicals encountered during firefighting. Additionally, there are several hazards caused by structural issues that require immediate attention.

The Parkesburg station is located in the most populated part of our district and is centrally located within the Fire District. The KVFD Fire District consists of West Sadsbury Township, portions of Sadsbury and Highland Township, and Parkesburg Borough.

More about the event from Victory Brewing:

"We are looking forward to another day full of fun as we host the 9th Annual Victory BrewBQ competition! This year we’re hosting the event at our very own Parkesburg Brewpub! So come out and enjoy live music, hot BBQ and cold beer!

The competition is a two-category BBQ cook-off! Each pit master team will compete to see who can make the best chicken and ribs according to our judges. There will also be a restaurant competition for the best-pulled pork! Attendees will be able to taste and vote on the People’s Pork award for our restaurant vendors."

This year we are accepting registration for 30 competitors and 30 judges for the competition.
