At 12:12 PM on Thursday, KVFD, with a paramedic from Brandywine Hospital, was dispatched to a crash reported to be serious in the 500 block of Main Street, Parkesburg Borough. There were multiple callers with contradictory information provided, but upon arrival, firefighters found one person laying in the roadway after they had self-extricated from a single vehicle, an SUV that crashed into a utility pole. There were wires and the transformer down on the vehicle.

The person, believed to be the driver, was transported to the Paoli Memorial Hospital by ambulance with a BH paramedic.

Firefighters stood by for PECO to de-energize the lines and declare the scene safe. They then assisted M&N Towing in hazard clean-up.

Fire police shut down the roadway and directed traffic for over an hour until approximately 1:30 PM. Assistant Chief Rich Klingler had command of the incident and reported at 2:05 PM that the road will remain closed for an extended time.

The Parkesburg police are investigating.
