Serious Accident Caused by a Deer

This morning at 9:41 AM, KVFD with a paramedic from Brandywine Hospital was dispatched to an accident reported to be serious on Limestone Road, Rt. #10, in Highland Township. The caller reported that a vehicle was overturned and was blocking the roadway. Deputy 8, Ladder 8, Tac 8, Amb 8-02 and fire police responded.

Upon arrival, firefighters assisted the driver, directed traffic along with our fire police, contained hazards and cleaned up debris. The driver was transported to Brandywine Hospital by Amb 8-2 to be checked. There was no need for ALS care.

Initial reports were that the accident was caused when the driver tried to avoid a deer. All motorists traveling on this section of roadway should use caution. There was evidence on the scene of other deer strikes.
