Yesterday the Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioners Office announced awards for the 2017-18 Volunteer Fire Company and Volunteer Emergency Services Grant Program.

As part of this program the Keystone Valley Fire Department was awarded $49,729.14 while Keystone Valley Emergency Medical Services was awarded $14,077.40, totaling $63,806.54. in grant funds.

As you know the Keystone Valley Fire Department is in the midst of a complete fire station renovation of its Parkesburg Central Station. This grant award will go a long way to assisting us with reducing the debt accrued during the renovation process.

The officers and members of the Keystone Valley Fire Department would like to thank the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for re-authorizing this program and the Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioners Office for acting as the administrative agent for this program. Without this program many Fire/E.M.S. agencies state wide would not otherwise be able to afford mission critical equipment that is used frequently within their communities.

The Keystone Valley Fire Department would like to thank member and past Board Member Jared Dalmas for all his time and commitment into the grant writing and documentation in order for KVFD to be able to obtain this grant.
