This morning at 5:13 AM, KVFD was dispatched to a garage fire on Blackhorse Road in West Sadsbury Township. The caller reported that there were flames showing at the rear of the detached garage.

Deputy Chief Schreiber reports that Gap's Engine 42-1 was the first to arrive and immediately went into service with a hose line, knocking the fire down. He said that the homeowner's response to shut the garage door slowed the fire growth and kept the fire contained to only the back of the garage.

Firefighters from Rescue 42 and Ladder 8 assisted with checking the garage for extension of the fire, while additional firefighters staged in the manpower pool and assisted as needed. Fire police detoured traffic from the area.

There were no injuries. The fire is under investigation by the fire marshal.

All units were clear by 7:02 AM.
