This afternoon at 1:50 PM, KVFD, with many surrounding fire companies, was dispatched to the first block of Beale Drive in the Borough of Parkesburg for a building fire. Reportedly a car was on fire in a barn. Initial units arriving confirmed that and added that there was heavy smoke with a wind condition that was pushing the fire.

Rescue 8 began the fire attack while other engines and tankers supplied water. Capt. Reynolds reported at 2:02 PM that the fire was "knocked." Other responding units were canceled while those on scene conducted overhaul and ventilation.

Capt. Reynolds said,"We responded in Rescue 8 because of the limited access to the property. Upon arrival we used one hand line. Checked with TIC for extension, and started ventilation done with PPV l.The fire was contained to the car. The owner did hit it with a fire extinguisher and two buckets of water. He had some smoke inhalation but refused treatment. We greatly appreciate the response by all who came to assist."
