Rescue 28 traveled to Marshalton Delaware on Saturday May 3 to do a stand by for Mill Creek Fire Company at Station 21. Longwood Fire Company, Engine 25-2, was on stand by as well while the members of Mill Creek celebrated their annual banquet.
Just as the Rescue backed into Station 21 we caught a run for an auto accident on Kirkwood Highway not far from the station. The crew from Rescue 28 assisted EMS with patient care while Rescue 25 controlled hazards.
After returning from that call Lieutenant Marc Williams greeted us and made sure we had the needed radios and other equipment for the evening. Following a tour of the station we had a chance to meet Department Chief Frederick N. Eysaldt and Deputy Chief Joseph P. Stewart who would spend the night leading us to calls in the command vehicle.
While the night was not very eventful, we responded to a total of 3 calls; including the crash, a controlled burning and burnt food on the stove, the members of Station 21 kept us well fed and comfortable in their house.
A big thank you to Mill Creek for the invitation and we hope to see them at our station for a stand by soon. We all look forward to coming back in the future.
