The event starts at Noon.

Heats will be ran as contestants arrive, final heat and awards will be done at 3:00 pm.
Challenge is in Minch Park, Gay Street side.

So who is going to own this Mastercard after Saturday's event? This is just one of the many prizes offered to those that compete and place high in the event.

PARKESBURG COMMUNITY DAY - FIREFIGHTER COMBAT CHALLENGE

Final heat and award presentation time will be announced after registration is closed.

First Prize at the Firefighter's Challenge this weekend is a set of "Irons" or it's value in $$$. Many other prizes too including a $100 MasterCard gift card provided by Signal 88 Security.

Do you have what it takes!
Firefighters will race the clock in full turn out gear, including SCBA, while navigating obstacles and simulated tasks normally associated with fire ground operations:
such as:

Tentative Stations for the Community Day FF Combat Challenge

1. Forcible Entry Door Prop

2. Pittsburgh Drill Obstacles - wall breach between studs, over peaked obstacle, though the tunnel obstacle and back

3. Supply line drag and hand over hand retrieve – 200 feet 3” supply line drag 100 feet, hand over hand retrieve 100 feet

4. Charged hose line drag 100 feet - 100 feet 1.75” hose attached to weighted object

5. 24’ ladder carry and raise

6. Vent Slams – 10lb sledge strikes on a tire

*KEYSTONE VALLEY FIRE DEPARTMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ADD OR DELETE STATIONS AS NEEDED*

*Participants must provide their own gear; to include turn out coat, bunker pants and structural boots, hood, fire gloves and helmet. SCBA will be provided, no mask required.

Prizes including; First Prize - a set of irons (or cost in lieu of) donated by MES Fire, a $100 MasterCard gift card donated by Signal 88 Security, and other great prizes to be awarded to the firefighters with the lowest time to complete the course.
