KVFD, with firefighters from Gap Fire Co., and the Christiana Fire Co, were dispatched to a reported house fire at 2:47 PM in the 400 block of Zook Road, West Sadsbury Township, Chester County. The caller reported smoke in a second floor bedroom, and said they had an earlier unreported chimney fire.

Deputy 8, Deputy Chief Cazillo, arrived on location to find smoke showing from the "C" side and requested a working fire dispatch. Deputy 8 assumed "Zook Road Command" and found exterior fire conditions and assigned crews to search the interior for fire.

Engine 8-2, Ambulance 8-2, Engine 8-1, Rescue 8, Tanker 8, with Lancaster County, Truck 42 and Engine 52 responded.

At 3:07 PM, Deputy 8 reported that "water was on the fire" and it was a chimney fire that extended into the walls and the roof. Crews extinguished the fire and checked for further extension.

At 3:17 PM, Deputy 8 reported that the fire is under control with all hands working. While all crews were committed to the scene, West Grove was dispatched for an engine to stand-by at the Central Station.

At 4:34 PM all crews cleared from the scene and returned to the station for clean-up and readying the apparatus for the next call.

There were no injuries.
