Last night we were honored to receive an award from the Chester County EMS Council Inc. naming us as the Distinguished Service of the Year for our outstanding contributions to EMS in Chester County.

Fire Chief Brian Gathercole said,"We graciously accept this award on the behalf of the Fire District, KVFD and all the active crew members, both career and volunteer who work so hard every day to deliver a quality product to our District and surrounding communities. As we enter our third year as KVFD, we are excited about the future, and promise to continue to perform at a high level in partnership with our community and other emergency responders."

The award was presented last night at a banquet held at the Red Clay Room of the Kennett Fire Company at 423 Dalmatian Street in Kennett Square, PA.

This award is presented annually by the EMS Council to a Chester County Emergency Medical Services organization that displays a significant level of cooperation among other services, outstanding performance, and effort when faced with adversity; or the promotion of an active display of teamwork, and support of various emergency services organizations in Chester County.

Keystone Valley Fire Department provides fire, rescue and ambulance service with 54 active volunteers, 21 part time career staff – including a Staff Supervisor. Staff is on duty twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week. Our EMS Division responds to over 1,000 calls per year.
