At 4:33 PM, a neighbor reported flames coming from the rear porch of a house in the 200 block of Grant Street, Parkesburg Borough, Chester County, PA. KVFD was dispatched with mutual aid also assigned from Cochranville Fire Co. and the Sadsburyville Fire Co. The caller reported that they believed that there was no one home.

Ambulance 8-2 responded immediately with Ladder 8, Engine 8-2, Traffic 8, and Utility 8 following. Cochranville had Engine 27-2 and Engine 27-3 enroute while Sadsburyville had Engine 31-1 responding. Chief 8, Chief 31, Assistant 8, and Ambulance 44-2 also responded.

Upon Ambulance 8-2's arrival, career FF/EMT Beiermeister found a flower box and porch railing on fire. He deployed a water can fire extinguisher and extinguished it. Chief 8 reported the fire under control, and non-KVFD units were recalled. Additional crews brought other water cans, a thermal imaging camera and an axe to conduct an overhaul and check for extension. There was none.

KVFD cleared the call at 4:51 PM. Thanks to an observant neighbor for quick reporting!
