Early this morning, at approximately 1:15 AM, KVFD, with an assist from the Cochranville Fire Company, Sadsburyville Fire Company and Westwood Fire Company, was dispatched to a dwelling fire on W. First Avenue in the Borough of Parkesburg. Ambulance 8-2 immediately responded and arrived on location with the Parkesburg PD. Firefighters and police officers found that it was actually food on the stove and that the fire was out. The assignment was held to Station 8 only: Ladder 8, Engine 8-2, Traffic 8 and Deputy 8. Ladder 8 arrived, and the crew started ventilation while Engine 8-2's firefighters checked for extension of the fire beyond the stove.

No fire extension was found and all crews cleared after ventilation was completed. There were no injuries.
