Crash in Stottsville

At 6:45 PM, KVFD, with Westwood ambulance and paramedics from Brandywine Hospital, was dispatched to an accident with entrapment on Valley Road at Timicula Road in Sadsbury Township. The police arrived and advised there was no entrapment but there were three victims in the two involved vehicles. Chief 8, Amb 8-1, Tac 8, Rescue 8, Traffic 8, Amb 44-1, Brandywine's Hospital's Medic 93-2 and 93-3, initially responded with Engine 8-1, Traffic 44, Fire Police 8-31 soon following.

Chief Gathercole assumed "Valley Road Command" and confirmed that there was no entrapment. He requested another BLS ambulance and Ambulance 41-1 was dispatched. Three patients, two requiring advanced life support services, were treated at the scene and transported to Paoli Hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

Firefighters and fire police officers assisted with traffic control and hazards while the Sadsbury Township police conducted the investigation.

All units were clear at 7:29 PM.

Special thank you to Life Member Charlene "Duffy" Pluck for assisting on-scene as the incident was in front of her residence. Duffy is a life-long EMT and was providing care to the injured upon Chief 8 arrival.

Assistance was also provided by a off-duty Officer who assisted on-scene with patient care until the arrival of Fire and EMS.
