At 2:56 PM, KVFD was dispatched to assist the Sadsburyville Fire Company along with a paramedic from Brandywine Hospital to a crash reported to be on Rt.#10 north of Rt. #30. The original caller reported that it involved a horse and buggy vs. a vehicle. Battalion Chief Erik Brecht of the Sadsburyville Fire Company was the first on the scene and he assumed "Rt.#10 Command" ordering a second ambulance and paramedic with a helicopter on stand-by. He also requested a fire police task force. Traffic was already very congested in the area due to a construction project.

Ambulance 8-1 was the first responding BLS ambulance with Ambulance 44-1 also assisting and Utility 8 responded as part of the traffic control response. KVFD's Engine was held on station. JeffSTAT 3 flew into the scene.

Investigation revealed that the incident actually occurred in West Sadsbury Township and it is under investigation by the West Sadsbury police with assistance from the Sadsbury police.

One patient was flown and one was transported by ground ambulance to AI Dupont Hospital.
