First Responder Service at the Parkesburg Mennonite Church

Today members of the Keystone Valley Fire Department along with Parkesburg police officers attended a service dedicated to First Responders.

Before the services church members had the opportunity to greet and thank each and every responder including some past responders in the community. Services were geared toward thanking the first responders and the sacrifice they provide for their community and family while serving as firefighters, EMT’s and Police.

During part of the service testimony was taken from members in the congregation that experienced events in their lives with real experiences when first responders have been there to aid them in some type of emergency that has saved lives. Junior Mikey Lavender was called to the front to assist with the message and was quite an inspiration to the church members that someone that young would be interested in serving as a responder. Immediately following the service responders were invited to receive flowers donated in memory of the Large Family (Delno, Denny, & Ida Mae). The Congregation and responders then adjourned downstairs to enjoy some light refreshment & fellowship.

KVFD again would like to thank Parkesburg Mennonite Church for their hospitality and today's outstanding First Responder Service.
