KVFD crew members staffed Ambulance 8-1 & Brush 8 for the Annual “Over The Hump” Race at The Piston Poppers Raceway in Sadsbury Township. With the threat of rain in the forecast, crew members took a chance to assist getting the race in. The race day featured displays of vintage race bikes and memorabilia from over the years.

The Over the hump race/racers reunion has enjoyed its fifth season at the Piston Poppers along with the chance for the “old timers” to get together and share their war stories of the racing world. An excellent chance to enjoy fellowship from guys & gals of District 6.

Crew members from Ambulance 8 were kept busy on the track with numerous falls on the track with one transport by ambulance and one taken by private vehicle. Crew members also had a number of walk ups for evaluations.

The Piston Poppers has seen record spectators for this event with a record amount of riders with one rider as far away as California attending. The end of the day wrapped up with the 12 lap feature race with the best of the best competing for a cash prize.

KVFD wishes a job well done by all the riders, Piston Poppers Staff and the volunteers that staffed the Ambulance & Brush Truck for today’s event.
