It's been a busy 24 hours for KVFD firefighters. At least eight ambulance calls (some others were dispatched to surrounding services because our ambulance was committed on a call) two crashes, both involving motorcyclists, and an odor of gas outside.

Last night, at 11:35 PM, KVFD with a paramedic from Brandywine Hospital were dispatched to a serious accident involving a motorcyclist reported to be bleeding from a facial injury, on Swan Road at Church Road, in West Sadsbury Township. He was transported to the Lancaster General Hospital with a paramedic on-board.

This morning, at 6:51 AM, KVFD and a paramedic from Brandywine Hospital were dispatched to a second crash involving a motorcyclist. The motorcyclist suffered multiple serious injuries and was transported by Ambulance 8-1 with a paramedic on-board to Paoli Hospital.

This morning at 9:52 AM, KVFD was dispatched to the 400 block of Main Street in Parkesburg for a report of a gas odor outside. Engine 8-2 and Ambulance 8-2 responded. Firefighters and police investigated and metered the area with nothing found. The odor may have been caused by farmers fertilizing nearby fields.
