House fire in Parkesburg Boro Downgraded to Electrical Fire Inside

This morning at 7:10 AM, KVFD with surrounding companies to assist, was dispatched to an electrical fire inside a house in the 300 block of W. Fifth Avenue, Parkesburg Borough. The caller told 9-1-1 that there was smoke coming from a light switch at the rear of the house.

EMC 08 (Kreger) arrived on-scene and confirmed the report from CCFR. EMC 08 advised the incident could be held to Station # 8 units.

Firefighters responded and arrived on-scene to find a smoldering electrical outlet. The incident was held to the Station 8 units only.

The incident was mitigated on-scene and the homeowner was advised that power was shut-off to the electrical outlet. The incident was turned back over to the homeowner under the advice to contact an electrician.

All units cleared.
