On Monday, January 16, 2017, KVFD was dispatched to investigate the odor of something burning at buildings in the 400 block of W. First Avenue in the Borough of Parkesburg. Amb 8-1, Engine 8-1 and Engine 8-2 responded.

On-scene crews investigated an odor of burning inside the business of Asseto's Barber Shop. Crews investigated to find an oil burner malfunction which caused the business and apartments to back up with fumes throughout. Crews assisted on-scene and turned the property over to the building owner.

While on-scene a resident across the street advised of a possible CO incident to the rear apartment in the 400 block as well. Crews investigated to find no services required. The residence was checked and turned over to the tenant on-scene.

All of Station 8 units cleared without further.
