Early Wednesday morning at 12:34 AM, KVFD was dispatched for tractor trailer on fire in the area of Lower Valley Road at Glen Run Road in West Sadsbury Township.

A fire police unit, 8-33, was the first to arrive and he corrected the address to Rt.#41 just south of 372.

Engine 8-1 with the Captain arrived on-scene and assumed the Route 41 Command. Station # 52 was added to the assignment due to the location.

Engine 8-1 and Amb 8-2 responded along with Engine 8-2 & Tanker 8. Firefighters arriving on Engine 8-1 deployed a 1 3/4 hose line and attacked the fire which was behind the chassis on the truck in the back tire area. The fire was contained to the area behind the cab of the truck. The tractor trailer was full at the time.

Tanker 8 supplied Engine 8-1 on-scene as the water tender. The tractor trailer was placed under control with units working on-scene.

Chief # 52 and Captain # 8 determined that the area of the call placed several municipalities coming into one are of Route # 41. Station # 8 handled the incident on-scene.

The fire was extinguished and there were no injuries. The Christiana Fire Co. assisted on-scene with manpower.
