On Monday at 2:36 PM, KVFD was dispatched to the first block of Newport Avenue in Pomeroy Village for a House fire.

The initial caller reported that they were seeing sparks coming from an outlet with smoke showing in a bedroom.

Upon arrival of Ladder 8, crews reported smoke coming from the roof and an active bedroom fire inside.

Lieutenant 8 (Tribbett) on Engine 8-1 established "Newport Command". Crews inside reported an active bedroom fire and crews were in-service.

Ladder 8's crew performed the search as Engine 31-1's crew stretched a 1 3/4 line to the front door and aussumed first in Engine Company responsibilities.

Chief 8 (Cazillo) arrived on-scene and took the "Newport Command" with all crews working.

PECO was notified to respond. Chief Cazillo reported that the fire was under control at 3:02 PM.

Belfor was requested for the board up.

Thanks to all the responders who turned out on the Memorial Day Holiday.
