Renovations at the Central Station

September 15, 2017

In June 2017 the Keystone Valley Fire Department started renovation on its main firehouse located in Parkesburg, Pa. The renovation project involves a full renovation of the existing facility. This project includes gutting the historic office building to bring it into compliance with all modern-day ADA and code requirements, including installing new HVAC, wiring, insulation, fire alarms, and sprinklers.

Also, the engine bay at the station will be demolished due to it's failing foundation, and a new foundation and bay area will be constructed. All apparatus bays will have 14’ wide by 14’ high bay doors, allowing us to accommodate larger, more modern apparatus, and will house three vehicles across the front and three across the rear.

During the construction, which is estimated to take a year to complete, our fire apparatus will be housed at two different locations. One of our local businesses, Mack Services located on South Church Street, has stepped up in the community and is letting the Fire Department use two of their garage bays to house our front line engine (Engine 8) and the attack truck, (Tac 8).

Tac 8 also serves as a Rescue and therefore is strategically placed in the center of our District and along Rt.#10.

The remainder of the Department's apparatus is housed at our East station located in Pomeroy.

The Fire Department also staffs two paid firefighter/EMT positions, twenty-four hour seven-days a week for our ambulance service and fire/rescue response. They will be at the Pomeroy station, as will any volunteer crews staffing Ladder 8.

Chief Robby Cazillo said,"We are confident that during this construction project KVFD assets are strategically placed to best serve our District."

The Department has always strived to give the residents of our Fire District consisting of Parkesburg, West Sadsbury Township, Highland Township and Sadsbury Township fast and professional service.

Residents can visit our web-site for construction updates and general information at www.kvfd8.com

Those who wish to support our project may download and print the attached flyer, or stop at the Parkesburg VFW or our East Station to get one.
