At 4:10 PM, a motorist called 9-1-1 and reported that he believed that he saw a house fire in the area of Strasburg Avenue. At this same time, another caller reported a house fire at 504 Strasburg Avenue on the second floor, with possibly a dog inside and several exposures.

First arriving units including Deputy 31 and the Parkesburg PD, confirmed the report and requested a second alarm. Those units were dispatched. Ladder 8 and Engine 8, who were dispatched on the first alarm made a quick response and got the fire extinguished.

Capt. 8 reported that the fire was knocked and later Deputy Chief Schreiber reported that the fire was under control and all hands were working. There were no injuries, and the dog reportedly was safely removed.

Several regional fire units were dispatched to standby at local stations as a cover. Thank you to all who assisted!

All hands will be working on rehab and decontamination. Please avoid the area. The roadway will be closed for a bit. Belfor is responding to secure the property.

Chester County fire marshals are on-scene and investigating the cause.
