Serious Crash on Rt.#41

On Friday afternoon at 3:03 PM, KVFD with surrounding departments was dispatched to a crash reported at Rt. #41 at Zook Road in West Sadsbury Township. The caller reported that one of the vehicles was on fire and there was heavy entrapment. Deputy Chief Schreiber arrived and assumed command. He reported that civilians on-scene did an excellent job of extinguishing the fire.

Upon the arrival of Rescue 8 extrication was started and was complete at 3:26 PM, EMS cared for the victims and one occupant was flown to a trauma center by Penn Star 4 while the other was transported by ambulance.

Null's Towing responded and assisted in fluid clean-up and the removal of the vehicles.

The crash is being investigated by the West Sadsbury Township Police

The roadway was closed for several hours.
