KVFD received news that they would be getting new AED's for Christmas on behalf of the Gary Sinise Foundation.

KVFD applied for the grant through the foundation and it was awarded the grant in November 2020. This is becoming a reality in December 2020.

These AED's will go on the front line apparatus of KVFD and be utilized for both fire and EMS services including our own firefighter safety and health.

The Gary Sinise Foundation serves our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need.

They do this by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is a common cause of line of duty deaths for our responders in this Country. Sudden cardiac death represents the most common cause of on-duty firefighter fatalities, killing about 45 each year. Sudden cardiac deaths involve a combination of personal and work-related factors.

KVFD thanks the Gary Sinise Foundation!
