On Sunday at 2:25 PM KVFD, and surrounding fire companies were dispatched to the 400 block of W. First Avenue for a dryer fire soon upgraded to a commercial fire in a multi-family row building. The Parkesburg police arrived and confirmed the fire to the rear of the structure.

Chief 8 arrived on-scene and assumed the W. First Avenue Command and also confirmed an apartment fire on the 3rd floor of the structure. Access was available to the Side -A- (Front) and Side -C- (Rear).

Ladder 8 arrived and assumed first due aerial assignment as Engine 8 arrived and secured a water source from the hydrant and crews stretched a 300ft hand-line to the -C- (Charlie) side of the building up the fire escape.

Crews entered the structure to find a dryer fire with extension to the rear of the apartment. Crews quickly brought the fire under control and firefighters then conducted an overhaul and ventilated the building.

Firefighters are still on-scene as of 3:13 PM. There were no injuries.
