RIP KVFD - Life Member George Dalmas

Passing of Mr. Dalmas - Jared's Father who was a Life Member of KVFD (Pomeroy)

George H. Dalmas, Jr, 91, of Pomeroy, passed away at the Brandywine Hall Nursing Home in West Chester on Sunday, February 28, 2021. George was the husband of the late Arlene F. McLaughlin Dalmas who passed away on September 4, 2020. They shared 48 years of marriage. Born in Sheatown, PA, Luzerne County he was the son of the late George H. Dalmas, Sr.and Guditta Scotta Dalmas.

He was a graduate of Nanticoke High School in Nanticoke, PA, class of 1947. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. George was employed by the Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville for 35 years as an Electrician.

George was a member of the Parkesburg VFW where he served as past Commander and all State commander. He was a member Skerrett Lodge #343 F.&A.M. of Cochranville, Reading Consistery, past Sadsbury Township zoning board member, and life member of Sadsburyville, Westwood and Pomeroy KVFD fire companies.

George is survived by his children, Jared Dalmas and wife Lara of West Chester, Michael Dalmas of New Holland, Lawrence Dalmas and wife Ann of Parkesburg, Diane Dalmas of Ronks and Daughter in law, Mary Dalmas of Quarryville, step-children, Devon and Dakota Kilgariff, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and one sister Angelina Opalski of Lanham, MD. He was preceded in death by one son Paul Dalmas, one daughter in law Joni Dalmas and five siblings; Bruno Dalmas, Angelina Dalmas, Frank Dalmas, Arthur Dalmas and Anna Gritsavage.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Upper Octorara Cemetery, 357 Octorara Road, Parkesburg, PA with a viewing at the cemetery starting at 10:15 AM.

In order to protect those at-risk, please wear a face mask and practice social distancing. If you plan on staying for the service and you have trouble standing for an extended period of time, please considering bringing a lawn chair as seating will be limited.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George's memory to Parkesburg VFW Post #4480 and sent to 406 W 4th Ave, Parkesburg, PA 19365.
