This evening KVFD and Christiana Fire Company participated in joint training at International Paper Company on Lower Valley Road in West Sadsbury Township.

The men, women, and junior firefighters of Keystone Valley and Christiana Fire Departments would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to International Paper for allowing them (us) to train on the old building number 5 tonight.

Captain Jones & Marks (Keystone Valley) and Assistant Chief 52 Zach Vandenbosch (Christiana) ran the drills without incident.

Smoke machines were deployed to the second story of the structure and three evolutions were run. Topics covered were ventilation, search and rescue with mannequins, advancing hose lines and overhaul.

It is because of training like this, that our departments are better equipped to face the real dangers of working fires in our fire district. It is very rare if not nearly impossible to find a structure like this to train on, and we had an opportunity from IP to practice our skills and train on many different assignments of the profession.
