Keystone Valley Fire Department which consolidated on March 19th, 2013, from the Pomeroy-Parkesburg-Atglen Fire Companies has been operating to its most capable abilities since consolidation. The year 2022 was the busiest year this far for both Fire & Rescue and Emergency Medical Services.

Fire & Rescue - 358
Emergency Medical Services - 1, 619

The year 2022 has been the largest increase in Emergency Medical Services call volume for our basic life support system in Western Chester County. KVFD EMS which operates with career and volunteer personnel on its Ambulances has seen a tremendous increase in call volume. KVFD in 2022 put up a second ambulance to assist with call volume in Western Chester County despite Tower Health closing Brandywine Hospital and also pulling its ALS service from our station and region. Total number of Emergency Medical Calls was 1,619.

Our neighbors at Westwood Fire Company picked-up the coverage areas for Advanced Life Support in the area and has seen a very large increase in call volume since the closure of Tower Health in our region.

Although the call volume for KVFD is nothing compared to what some of other EMS Stations in Chester County such as the greater West Chester area, Coatesville City and Southern Chester County cover however, Parkesburg & West Sadsbury Township lies on the most western border of Chester County and our increase in call volume comes with great changes within the area for our service and our mutual-aid partners.

KVFD also experienced its first year with fire related incidents running 356 calls for our area in Western Chester County.

KVFD has acknowledged the growth coming to this area as West Sadsbury Township continues to grow with both commercial and residential additions along with the daily commuters on Business 30 (Route 30). Parkesburg Borough has had an increase in its commercial businesses coming into the Borough along with the amount of traffic flowing through Route 372 & Route 10.

KVFD thanks the Keystone Valley Regional Fire District which consists of Parkesburg Borough, West Sadsbury Township & Highland Township for its continued support. The KVRFD oversees the KVFD and has supported our service growing and as it continues to grow.

KVFD also thanks Sadsbury Township (Chester County) which contracts KVFD BLS for its township.
