Car Fire At Walmart

On May 24th, 2023, at 14:03 the Keystone Valley Fire Department was dispatched by the Chester County 911 Center to the Parkesburg Walmart for a reported car fire.

Rescue 8, Engine 8, Utility 8, Ambulance 8-1 all made the response and were given the report of a sedan in the parking lot with flames coming from under the hood. "Portable 43" went on the scene and confirmed the report and assisted the occupants of the vehicle to a safe location.

Rescue 8 with Deputy Chief Klingler arrived to find a well involved engine compartment off in the vehicle. Rescue 8's crew deployed a line and began fire suppression efforts and as the additional apparatus arrived their personnel were directed to assist. The fire was placed under control at 14:15 hours. Ambulance 8-1's crew checked on the occupants of the vehicle and also stood by at the scene.

All Keystone Valley Fire Department units were made available at 14:43 as the West Sadsbury Police Department remained on the scene to await the arrival of a tow company.
