On May 29th, 2024, The Keystone Valley Fire Department was pleased to provide Naloxone (Narcan) Leave Behind Kits to our good friends and colleagues at the Washington Hose Company of Coatesville City. EMT Dill and EMT Camuti met with EMS Supervisors Kachel and Wallace and presented them with a case of 50 Leave Behind Kits. Keystone Valley Fire Department was granted a generous amount of No-Cost Naloxone (Narcan) Leave Behind Kits by funding allocated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA DOH) through the Pennsylvania Overdose Prevention Program (POPP), which works in hand with the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) and the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP). These kits are meant to be left behind for any individual that is at risk of experiencing a future overdose or is likely to utilize opiates again. Keystone Valley Fire Department EMS Supervisors Miles and Degnan have placed (2) Naloxone Leave Behind Kits on each of our ambulances, and one (1) kit on each fire apparatus owned by the Keystone Valley Fire Department in the event our ambulance is being covered by a mutual aid agency. Each Naloxone Kit includes the following: • Opioid Overdose Resuscitation reference card Big thanks to EMT Bill Dill who helped with the coordination of receiving this supply order. |
