Keystone Valley Fire Department would like to take a quick moment to recognize one of our own, Maddi Rauscher, for being named Telecommunicator of the Year Award at the Chester County EMS Banquet.

Supervisor Miles commented "I was fortunate enough to meet Maddi in person at the 911 center one evening maybe about 2 years ago when I was there for a visit, and it was great to be able to put a face to the name of the very confident and caring voice of the dispatcher behind the mic. I got even more excited when I found out she lives in the area, and she was offered the opportunity to do a ride along with us and since has become a member of KVFD and became a certified EMT through Uwchlan Ambulance while working a crazy schedule".

Madison or as many of us know her as "Maddi" was brought up as a Fire Dispatcher from a Call Taker in the midst of COVID and was trained in an unconditional way from how the County previously gave the dispatchers an opportunity to learn. The job of a fire dispatcher takes a lot of attention to detail, and they literally are doing about 5 things at once while dispatching (dropping tones, knowing who is where doing what, while also answering 911 calls, etc.). Now that we've had time to get to know her, we are not surprised at how she excelled with her training and continues to do so every day. As first responders, we are lucky that we have Maddi as one!

"The role of a Telecommunicator is often overlooked, yet it is undeniably one of the most critical components of our emergency response system. These unsung heroes are the calm voice on the other end of the radio during moments of crisis, the lifeline for those in distress, and the backbone of our first responder community."

"Maddi is not just a colleague or a friend; she is a shining beacon of optimism and kindness that illuminates our workplace every single day. From the moment Maddi steps into the Communications Center, her radiant smile and infectious energy have the power to lift the spirits of everyone around her. Whether it's a cheerful greeting in the morning or a word of encouragement during a challenging moment, Maddi's positivity knows no bounds. What truly sets Maddi apart is the sincerity with which she offers her support. It's not about grand gestures or recognition; it's about making a genuine connection with others and being there for them when they need it most. Maddi's kindness creates a safe space within the Communications Center and leaves a lasting impact on all who have the privilege of knowing her."

Maddi, we're so proud of you! We're thankful to have you on the other side of the radio watching our backs! The County is lucky to have you! #BPlatoonProud

Keep up the great work!
