On September 8th, 2024, Sadsburyville Fire Company along with Keystone Valley Fire Department EMS were dispatched to the intersection of Octorara Trail and Beacon Light Road in Sadsbury Township for an auto accident.
Assistant 31 (Reynolds), Ambulance 8-1 and the Sadsburyville Fire Company units made the response and were advised by the Chester County 911 Center of a two-vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Additional callers reported 1 vehicle off of the roadway with at least 1 patient to be checked for injuries.
Lieutenant 8 (Delestienne) was the first arriving officer to confirm the reports and started patient care until the arrival of Ambulance 8-1. Assistant 31 (Reynolds) arrived and assumed the command for this incident. Ambulance 8-1 arrived and their crew triaged the scene for other potential patients. Micu 144 from Westwood fire company and second ALS from Tower Direct (Micu 193) were added to the assignment as Ambulance 8-1 confirmed 2 patients. Rescue 31 arrived and their crew swept debris from the roadway and also secured the hazards on the vehicles.
Ambulance 8-1 had the commander recall the Micu 193 as their patient was being transported to an area hospital. Micu 144 also transported the 2nd patient to an area trauma center. Sadsburyville Fire Company units remained on the scene to provide lighting and traffic control while the police department conducted an investigation of the accident scene.
Ambulance 8-1 cleared the call at 21:23.
