Accident With Entrapment In East Fallowfield Township

On September 11th, 2024, Westwood Fire Company along with Keystone Valley Fire Department EMS were dispatched to the 600 block of Buck Run Road in East Fallowfield Township for an auto accident with reported entrapment. Micu 44 had a very busy day as normal and was committed on another emergency.
Westwood Fire Company units and Ambulance 8 made the response and were advised by the Chester County 911 Center of a 2-vehicle accident involving a bus and additional callers reported 1 subject trapped. Deputy 44 (Scott) arrived and confirmed 1 subject was trapped and assumed the command for this incident.
Ambulance 8 arrived and assumed patient care of the trapped subject while Intermediate 144 arrived and checked the bus that reportedly had 13 subjects on board. Squad 37 was in the area clearing a medical call and was advised to respond to assist Rescue 44 with the extrication. As additional units arrived the crews worked collaboratively together to quickly extricate the subject which was handed over to the EMS crews for a further evaluation.
Ambulance 8 and Medic 344 transported 1 subject to an area hospital for their injuries and Intermediate 144 was made available on the scene. Rescue 44 and Squad 37 remained on the scene to assist the police department with their accident investigation.
