On Thursday May 15th, Firefighter Gavin Evans graduated from the Chester County Firefighter 1 program at Chester County Public Safety Center along with 20 other Cadets. Gavin was presented his certificate by Chief Marks and the event was attended by department personnel in support of his immensive efforts in completing the prescribed program. Please Join Us in Congratulating our Newest Certified Firefighter Gavin Evans! Gavin has successfully completed Essentials of Firefighting (Firefighter 1) training at the Chester County Public Safety Training Center. Firefighter 1 is a 188-hour entry-level national certification course our firefighters must complete before they may fight fire inside a burning structure. In addition to learning the science and behavior of fire and various methods of fire suppression, recruits are also certified in hazardous materials operations, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid as well as several other certifications. Congratulations to all the graduates and best of luck in your endeavors furthering your volunteer and professional career. Great team work was shown and congratulations to all cadets and your respective Stations.
