The Keystone Valley Fire Department (KVFD) has been preparing for the winter storm expected to impact the region. Both volunteer and career personnel have coordinated with stakeholders to ensure readiness, following similar efforts by local agencies, municipalities, and state personnel.

Pennsylvania has declared a State of Emergency for this storm. Chester County is operating under a Storm Declaration, and all municipal partners in the area have enacted Snow Emergencies.

KVFD personnel have already responded to several calls for service before the storm and now the personnel are staffed and ready. Staff met, including both volunteer and career members, to review completed preparations and to discuss plans for staffing and response efforts as the storm develops.

Local businesses have provided donations to support KVFD personnel who will be working around the clock during the storm. KVFD acknowledges and appreciates the generosity of these businesses, which assists members who are committed to maintaining public safety through the severe weather.

The following organizations contributed support:

Parkesburg Grocery Outlet (Valarie and Mark), Chick-fil-A of Sadsbury, Rocco & Anna’s, and Wawa Food Markets at Routes 10 and 30.
