On February 4, 2026, at 12:55 p.m., the Keystone Valley Fire Department and area mutual aid were dispatched to the area of Rosemont Avenue and Young Street in Parkesburg Borough for a reported barn fire.
As units responded, they were advised by the Chester County 911 Center that additional callers reported a house on fire in the 500 block of Rosemont Avenue.
Ladder 8 arrived on scene and confirmed a 5-by-10 foot chicken coop was fully involved in fire. The crew began suppression efforts immediately. Rescue 8 arrived shortly after, providing additional personnel to assist. Due to the quick actions of Keystone Valley Fire Department personnel, the fire was quickly extinguished, and a nearby garage was saved from damage. Ladder 8 assumed command of the incident and declared it under control. The assignment was then scaled back to Keystone Valley units and one engine from the Christiana and Sadsbury Fire Companies. A request was made for the local fire marshal to respond to the scene.
All units cleared the scene at 1:24 p.m.
