National Police Week 2026 runs from Sunday, May 10 to Saturday, May 16, 2026

In 1962, President Kennedy designated May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day. He also established the calendar week in which May 15 falls as National Police Week.

Created by a joint resolution of Congress that same year, National Police Week serves to honor law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty while protecting their communities.

In 2026, National Police Week will be observed from Sunday, May 10 through Saturday, May 16.
