| The Keystone Valley Fire Department and Keystone Valley Regional Fire District have announced the order of a new Engine 8, representing an important advancement for local emergency services.
This purchase was made possible by the coordinated efforts of the apparatus committee and Glick Fire Equipment Co., Inc. The new unit will be a Pierce Enforcer Pumper, recognized for its reliability and performance during emergency responses.
The current Engine 8, a 2001 Pierce model formerly operated by Goshen Fire Company, became part of the department when it consolidated through Atglen Fire Company in 2013. After more than 20 years of service, this apparatus is scheduled to be replaced in front-line operations, despite being well maintained.
Funding for the new engine was secured through support from West Sadsbury Township and the Keystone Valley Regional Fire District. Their dedication to public safety has ensured the department can continue to acquire the necessary resources for fire suppression.
The Keystone Valley Fire Department remains focused on maintaining a dependable fleet for the community. With the addition of this new vehicle, the department marks its second new unit added in the past thirteen years.
