| Today, KVFD was invited to the Early Learning Center, a part of Our Lady Of Consolation Church located in Parkesburg, Pennsylvania, to continue a fire prevention program. The teachers covered topics related to fire prevention last week, and today approximately 30 pre-school age children had an opportunity to meet firefighters and EMTs, and tour Ambulance 8, Tac 8, and Squad 8-2.
They wore a real helmet, and saw a firefighter in full turn-out gear with SCBA so they can understand that a person so attired and talking through a mask was there to help them. Firefighter Nate Delestienne did an excellent job reinforcing what was learned in previous lessons, while FF/EMT Jeanna Blank and FF/EMT Chris Palmer discussed EMS age appropriate topics. |
