At 11:57 AM KVFD was dispatched to what was reported to be a house fire at 604 W. Third Avenue, Borough of Parkesburg. The caller reported smoke coming from a dwelling.

The initial dispatch for a dwelling fire included all KVFD stations, with two Engines from the Cochranville Fire Company, and a second ambulance from the Westwood Fire Company.

At 12:00 PM the first arriving police unit reported that it was actually a shed on fire, not a dwelling, with exposures to a tree.

Ambulance 8, Ladder 8 (with 3), and Chief 8, Chief Stackhouse, were the first to arrive. Chief Stackhouse assumed "Third Avenue Command" and held the response to just KVFD, then diverting Engine 8-3 (with 4) to the Central as a stand-by for the District with Engine 8-1, and Engine 8-2 to the scene with Traffic 8. Additional staffing was also available at the Central.

Ladder 8 pulled a bumper mount 1 3/4" line and extinguished the fire. Chief Stackhouse placed the fire under control at 12:09 PM. Engine 8-1 arrived on-scene and had the personnel assist Ladder 8's crew and Engine 8-1 supplied Ladder 8 with water.

Chester County Fire Marshal Russ Kilmer and Mike Holmes responded to investigate the incident. The incident was investigated and all units cleared.

Great work in the Borough and quick work by KVFD.
