CO Alarm Response and Investigation

On Friday at 9:53 AM, KVFD was dispatched to a CO investigation at a residence in the 500 block of W. Third Avenue, Parkesburg, PA.

Ambulance 8-1 responded with career staff and Tac 8, Utility 8, and Squad 8-1 soon also responded. Reportedly the residents at this address were not feeling well during the early morning hours and went to Paoli Memorial Hospital for treatment.

KVFD Chief Officers were dispatched for the Chief Notification and KVFD Deputy Chief Cazillo responded out to the residence after being advised from the hospital of the findings at 4:30 AM. Deputy Chief Cazillo arrived at the location in the early morning hours to advise neighbors of the potential CO incident and had them check their homes. There were no hazards found.

The residents returned home just before 9:53 AM and requested KVFD be dispatched to check the residence. Firefighters were dispatched and upon arrival, donned their SCBA and checked the residence to find negative readings. However there was a need for further investigation and the incident was turned over to the property manager and a repair service for further action.
