Membership
Any person of good character and being a minimum age of 14 years shall be eligible for membership.
With acceptance into membership, dues in the amount designated for the current year must be paid for a membership card to be issued.
Classification of Membership
Active Member: those individuals who are members in good standing who meet the following criteria. Active status guarantees full voting rights within the Department.
Firefighter: 18 years old, 4 stated Department meetings per year, 12 Department training sessions per year, Essentials of Fire Fighting, VRT, Hazardous Material Awareness Certification, CPR within 1 year of memebrship acceptance and 25 calls per year.
EMS: 18 years old, 4 stated Department meetings per year, 12 Department training sessions per year, CPR/First Aid, Hazardous Materials Awareness Certification within 1 year of membership acceptance and 25 calls or duty nights per year. Ambulance driver must be 21 years of age and possess Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification.
Engineer: 21 years of age, 4 stated Department meetings per year, 12 Department training sessions per year, Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification, Hazardous Material Awareness Certification, Pumps I & II and 25 calls per year.
Fire Police: 18 years old, 4 stated Department meetings per year, 12 Department training sessions per year, must be sworn in by Parkesburg Borough, Basic Fire Police Certification/ Hazardous Materials Awareness Certification within 1 year and 25 calls per year.
Supporting Member: those individuals over the age of 18 that are dues paying members in good standing who do not meet the active member criteria.
Life Member: those individuals who have completed 20 continuous years of membership, to include any membership classification.
Honorary Member: those individuals over the age of 18 who have been awarded a membership status through nomination and Department vote for meritorious service to the Department.
Junior Member: those individuals between the ages of 14 and 18 years old, but not exceeding their 18th birthday. Must attend 4 stated Department meetings per year and 12 Department training sessions per year. These individuals have no voting rights within the Department. All state and federal Child Labor Laws apply.
