Dear Community Leaders,

Keystone Valley Fire Department along with, Parkesburg Action Committee, Parkesburg Business Association, Lions Club, Parkesburg Community Church Outreach Organization, Parkesburg Library, Parkesburg Point and many more will be participating during the month of October 2022 with the Domestic Violence Awareness Month “October 2022”

In October of each year Domestic Violence Center of Chester County celebrates Domestic Violence Awareness Month signified by a purple ribbon. A symbol of hope and healing, purple is the color of Domestic Violence awareness. DVCCC continues its vision to “paint the town purple” every October by tying their purple ribbons to lamp posts throughout Chester County communities.

With permission, DVCCC has decorated downtown areas of many communities with purple ribbons.

On September 16, 2022, Parkesburg Borough Council voted unanimously allowing Domestic Violence Center of Chester County to decorate Main Street and West First Avenue with purple ribbons hung to lamp posts as a colorful and peaceful way to raise awareness in Parkesburg of domestic violence.

The date and time for the ribbon hanging is Sunday October 2nd at 10am. (Meeting in front of Borough Hall, 315 W 1st Avenue) for anyone interested in helping.
