Keystone Valley Fire Department responded to several incidents storm and weather-related last evening within Keystone Valley Fire District and also to mutual-aid areas as many agencies were extremely busy.

Keystone Valley Fire Department responded to several service calls which included wires down along with trees & wires. While clearing an incident along Upper Valley Road which was turned over to Amtrak along the railway, one of KVFD's fire police officers was returning home when several trees and wires along with a telephone pole came down on his vehicle on Church Road in West Sadsbury Township.

The member called units still clearing Upper Valley Road and requested the response as other neighbors were calling 911 as well. The incident reported one Jeep under the trees and wires on Church Road with entrapment.

KVFD units responded being offered assistance from other mutual-aid agencies for the incident. KVFD units arrived on-scene to find two poles down, several trees down and wires across the road in the 4500 block of Church Road.

The member and operator self-extricated and removed himself from the hazard, and the incident resulted in wires and trees down.

The incident was turned over to PP&L. The roadway was barricaded and closed off throughout the night and also during the day.

The incident was handled by West Sadsbury Township Police Department and West Sadsbury Township Public Works. Thank you, Jason Chapman, for responding out and assisting with barricades.

Units: Chief 8, Traffic 8, Ambulance 8-1, Rescue 8 & Engine 8

Mutual Aid: Station 27, 31, 37 & Lancaster Station 52
