On August 23rd, 2024, at 01:31 Keystone Valley Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Boro Line and Limestone Roads in Highland Township for an auto accident.
Keystone Valley Fire Department units and Chief 8 (Gathercole) made the response and were advised by the Chester County 911 Center that the caller reported hearing a "thump" noise and could hear someone screaming for help. Additional callers reported an auto accident with 1 subject to be checked.
Chief 8 and Ambulance 8 arrived to find a single vehicle into a tree with a subject out of the vehicle. Upon further investigation of the scene Ambulance 8-1 determined that the patient's injuries were serious, and a medic was added to the assignment. Additional Keystone Valley Fire Department units arrived and controlled the hazards on the vehicle while also assisting the police department with lighting of the scene.
Ambulance 8 started transport to an area trauma center while meeting the medic enroute. The remaining Keystone Valley Fire Department units cleared a short time later turning the scene over to the police department.
